Inschool,thenationalflagisusuallyraisedatacertaintimeeveryday.Thentheprincipal,teachers,staffandstudentsareto(must)standbeforeitandsingthenationalanthem.Itisindeedextremelymeaningfultoattendsuchaceremony.

尊敬國(guó)旗是每個(gè)公民的責(zé)任（義務(wù)）。為什么？因?yàn)閲?guó)旗是國(guó)家的象征。尊敬它意思就是尊敬國(guó)家。換句話說(shuō)，如果一個(gè)人愛國(guó)，他必須愛國(guó)旗。公務(wù)員之家，全國(guó)公務(wù)員共同天地

Atpresent(Nowadays)mostcountriesin(of)theworldareenforcingcompulsoryeducation.Itisnecessaryforallkindsofpeople,bothrichandpoor,toreceiveeducation.Taiwanisanexceptionaswellnot.

我們不可能使我們的國(guó)家富強(qiáng)而不發(fā)展教育。為什么？因?yàn)榻逃o予人民知識(shí)并教他們?nèi)绾纬蔀楹霉褚员隳転閲?guó)家效力。難怪，有人說(shuō)教育決定一個(gè)國(guó)家的進(jìn)步，繁榮與文化。

現(xiàn)在世界大多數(shù)的國(guó)家都在實(shí)施強(qiáng)迫教育。所有各類人民不論貧富都必須接受教育。臺(tái)灣也不例外。

第十八天：Industry(diligence)勤勉

Itisamatterofcoursethatindustrywillbringussuccess,wealthandgoodluck.Iamsurethatahard-workingpersoncanalwayssucceedintheworkwhichhewantstodo.Thisisunchangeabletruth.

Idlenessistheoppositeofindustry.Itisthesourceofallevil.Anidlemanonlyenjoysplayingandmakingpleasures.Thatheisdoomedtofailureisofnodoubt.Weshouldnotfollowhisexample.

勤勉會(huì)帶給我們成功，財(cái)富和好運(yùn)乃是當(dāng)然之事。我確信一個(gè)苦干的人終是能夠做成功他所要做的工作。這是不易之定理。

懶惰是勤勉的反面。它是萬(wàn)惡之源泉。一個(gè)懶惰的人只享受玩耍和尋樂。他命運(yùn)注定失敗是毫無(wú)疑問的。我們不應(yīng)學(xué)他的榜樣。

第十九天：Mynativetown我的故鄉(xiāng)

MynativetownisX.Wehavesettleddownheresincemygrandfatherwasachild.Inotherwords,myfamilyhaslivedhereformorethanonehundredyears.

Itisasmallvillage.Thereareaboutonethousandinhabitants.Mostofthemarefarmers.Themodeoftheirlivingisverysimple.However,theyhavealreadypossessedtelevisionsetsandrefrigerators.Theymadeuptheirmindstoliveamodernlife.

我的故鄉(xiāng)是X。我們自從祖父是小孩時(shí)，就定居在此地。換句話說(shuō)，我們家人在此地已經(jīng)住了一百余年了。

這個(gè)小村莊。居民大約有一千人。他們大部分是農(nóng)夫。他們的生活方式很簡(jiǎn)單。然而，他們已擁有電視和冰箱。他們下定決心要過(guò)一個(gè)現(xiàn)代的生活。

第二十天：Myschoollife我的學(xué)校生活

WhenIwassixyearsold,Ibegantogotoschool.Thefirstschool(which)Iattendedwasaprimaryschool.Thereweremanysubjects(whichweretaughtintheschool,suchasChinese,arithmetic,history,geography,drawingandsoforth.SinceIwas(became)astudent,Istudiedveryhard.Myparentswerequiteproudofme.

AfterIhadstudiedthereforthreeyears,Ienteredajuniorhighschool.WhenIwastwelveyearsold,Ibecameastudentofaseniorhighschool.Istillstudiedveryhard.ExceptonsickleaveIwasneverabsentfromclass.Everybodylookeduponmeasamodelstudent.

我六歲的時(shí)候，就開始上學(xué)了。我第一個(gè)上的學(xué)校是一所國(guó)小。學(xué)校里教的課目有許多，諸如國(guó)文，算術(shù)，史地，畫圖等等。既然我是一個(gè)學(xué)生，我就用功讀書。我父母深以我為公務(wù)員之家，全國(guó)公務(wù)員共同天地榮。

我在那邊讀了三年后，就進(jìn)入初中。我十二歲的時(shí)候，就成為一個(gè)高中的物理學(xué)。我依舊用功讀書。除病假外，我永不缺課。人人都把我看作是一個(gè)模范生。
