My hometown is lhasa, the largest city on the roof of the world. it is the heart and soul of tibet. i think lhasa is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. it is surrounded by towering mountains and rarely a day goes by when you don’ t see the deep blue sky. lhasa river is flowing quietly around the city.
I hasa is the mixture of tradition and fashion.
Firstly, lhasa has a long history. it is the political, cultural and economic center of tibet. it has lots of famous sights to offer. the potala palace is the most famous, a magnificent and wonderful place to look at. in my opinion it is a unique artistic achievement of the tibetan people. likewise, the architecture, carvings and paintings throughout the city show hard work, wisdom and bravery of our people.
Secondly, led by the reforming and opening policy of china, lhasa has changed a lot. many new things have arrived up here, changing the face of the city. the old and new lie side by side in lhasa.
Many new buildings, schools and roads have been built here. furthermore, the qing—zang railway leading to lhasa is being built. many shopping centers have been opened, and modern technology like telenetmunications is spreading. the whole city looks prosperous, and our tibetan people take on a new look. every festival, people walk around freely on the new, wide and smooth streets, wearing the beautiful traditional costumes.
Right now, i am looking forward to a festival called shodün which netes in june for eating yoghurt. at this time, all my family and i gather for a picnic together at the norbulinka, a famous garden. in the garden, we sing tibetan songs, dance “guo zhuang” on the grass; eat zanba, drink butter tea and barley beer on the beautiful carpet as well. we enjoy our life. i think that this festival exhibits the open-minded and optimistic character of the tibetan people.

The meaning of honor
Tthe word honor is often associated with admirable career success, brilliant academic achievement, great social contribution and high position.
When speaking of honor, one has images like yang li-wei, jackie chen or learned scholars like the honorable judges here. it is true that these people are worthy of admiration. but how about those who are around us, who contributes to the society in different ways, netpleting their everyday task with devotions but remain unknown? are they far from honor? should they only clap hands for the people on the stage? shouldn’t they also deserve respect from us? i don’t think so.

good evening, everyone!
throughout my years of being a student, i’ve had many teachers. none of them are the same, but the one that i’ll never forget and will always miss is my chinese bilingual teacher in the middle school i attended in seattle, ms. ho. she was a skinny, but stylish lady in her 50s. she was different from all the other teachers because she gave me something unforgettable.
ms. ho and i became friends right in the first semester i was in that middle school. at the same time, i was having a really hard time with my subjects. since i had just transferred from a bilingual school, where i had stayed for two months after arriving in the us, my english was horrible; my average grade was below c. i almost thought it impossible to learn english. then, one day she told me she strongly believed that i was capable of controlling my life, and i would be just fine. she said that she found we were much alike: both were stubborn, kind-hearted and a little bit simple-minded. she believed that i had the quality of becoming wise. she even said that she didn’t have any worries about me, about my not learning english. with her encouragement, i found the strength within myself and began to desire to work even harder. as a result, i soon proved her right, and at the end of the semester, i got a 3.8 average grade.

對(duì)于在不斷探索發(fā)展的我們,應(yīng)該更多地讓每一位學(xué)生體會(huì)到學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的快樂(lè)。將課堂交給學(xué)生,運(yùn)用高效學(xué)習(xí)法,制訂英語(yǔ)小組制度,利用板書和多媒體教學(xué)的結(jié)合,將課堂展示更加直接地展示給學(xué)生,同時(shí)也節(jié)約了板書的時(shí)間,保障教師講解與學(xué)生展示的結(jié)合,講解是課堂的重中之重,教師講解是否到位,每一個(gè)小組的展示就能體現(xiàn)出來(lái)。每一個(gè)小組的課堂展示都必須經(jīng)過(guò)小組內(nèi)部成員的深入探究。展示哪些學(xué)習(xí)成果,通過(guò)什么方式或者是思路來(lái)展示,由誰(shuí)在展示,全都由小組內(nèi)部人員自行來(lái)決定。爭(zhēng)取做到保障每一個(gè)學(xué)生都能積極參與到課堂教學(xué)活動(dòng)當(dāng)中。小組展示不僅能夠活躍課堂氣氛,同時(shí)也給了學(xué)生一個(gè)展示的舞臺(tái),更能進(jìn)一步帶動(dòng)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的積極性與主動(dòng)性,增加他們學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的興趣。
2.把握課外學(xué)習(xí),課外學(xué)習(xí)同樣重要
英語(yǔ)不應(yīng)該僅僅停留在課堂內(nèi),為保障課堂展示的效率,必須同時(shí)高度重視課外學(xué)習(xí)。然而,在進(jìn)行英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的過(guò)程中,切勿進(jìn)入布置大量習(xí)題與課后作業(yè)的誤區(qū),這樣不僅會(huì)降低學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的熱情,同時(shí)也會(huì)將他們帶入學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)是完成任務(wù)的思想誤區(qū)。課外學(xué)習(xí)應(yīng)該把握好預(yù)習(xí)與復(fù)習(xí)的有效統(tǒng)一,很多情況下,教學(xué)過(guò)程中會(huì)忽視預(yù)習(xí)的重要性,注重課前預(yù)習(xí)是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)的重要方法。在進(jìn)行課堂教學(xué)之前,教師可以要求學(xué)生交一份預(yù)習(xí)報(bào)告,由他們自主書寫完成,待課堂教學(xué)結(jié)束之后,學(xué)生可以得知哪些內(nèi)容是自己關(guān)注的,哪些內(nèi)容是自己還需要繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)的。預(yù)習(xí)報(bào)告能夠在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)能力的同時(shí),大大提高課堂展示環(huán)節(jié)的效率。在確保預(yù)習(xí)質(zhì)量的同時(shí),還需要注重課后的復(fù)習(xí)與鞏固,但很多老師都會(huì)用大量的習(xí)題的形式對(duì)進(jìn)行課堂鞏固,建議讓學(xué)生再交一份學(xué)習(xí)報(bào)告,并與之前預(yù)習(xí)報(bào)告相比,這節(jié)課學(xué)到了什么,哪些是重點(diǎn),哪些應(yīng)該掌握。預(yù)習(xí)與復(fù)習(xí)的有效統(tǒng)一,能進(jìn)一步提高學(xué)生英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)能力,從而達(dá)到優(yōu)化英語(yǔ)課堂展示環(huán)節(jié)的效果。
3.豐富展示形式,讓課堂展示不再死板
興趣是最好的老師,沒(méi)有興趣,很難去帶動(dòng)課堂展示過(guò)程的氣氛。所以教師應(yīng)該不斷地豐富課堂展示環(huán)節(jié)。就英語(yǔ)課堂展示方法而言,傳統(tǒng)的展示方法就是板書,而這恰恰會(huì)使得課堂氣氛枯燥,學(xué)生興趣喪失,從而進(jìn)一步導(dǎo)致課堂教學(xué)死板。建議可以采取以下幾種課堂展示形式。
(1)英語(yǔ)演講(English speaking)。
學(xué)生熟知語(yǔ)法、詞匯和語(yǔ)言材料,口語(yǔ)發(fā)展能力卻相當(dāng)滯后,很可能除了能用最簡(jiǎn)單的應(yīng)答和招呼語(yǔ)之外,難以用得體的語(yǔ)言直接表達(dá)思想和進(jìn)行交際。英語(yǔ)演講環(huán)節(jié)可以豐富課堂展示環(huán)節(jié),更進(jìn)一步培養(yǎng)同學(xué)們的英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)能力。
給學(xué)生3~5分鐘展示的舞臺(tái),在進(jìn)行單元教學(xué)時(shí),學(xué)生可以抓住本單元學(xué)習(xí)的話題進(jìn)行演講,從演講稿的書寫到站在舞臺(tái)上演講,都是對(duì)他們英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)、詞匯、語(yǔ)法等方面能力的一種培養(yǎng)。
(2)英語(yǔ)游戲(English game)。一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的英語(yǔ)游戲可以輕松帶動(dòng)課堂氣氛,更能培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)能力?!皢卧~接龍”的游戲,可以增加并豐富學(xué)生的詞匯量?!胺志湔一锇椤保▽W(xué)生各自代表一小個(gè)分句,需要找到伙伴成為一個(gè)新句子)的游戲,可以在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生默契的同時(shí),鍛煉他們的反應(yīng)能力與語(yǔ)法能力。許許多多的有趣的英語(yǔ)游戲都可以嘗試著帶入英語(yǔ)的課堂展示環(huán)節(jié)當(dāng)中。
(3)英語(yǔ)辯論(English debating)。
學(xué)生語(yǔ)言能力的發(fā)展是其思維能力賴以發(fā)展的重要前提,而思維能力的發(fā)展又可以促進(jìn)言語(yǔ)的表達(dá),兩者相輔相成、相互作用。學(xué)生通過(guò)各種渠道將語(yǔ)言信息輸入大腦,通過(guò)對(duì)比、分析、綜合、理解、記憶、推理、歸納等一系列加工活動(dòng),然后表達(dá)出來(lái),這一過(guò)程就是大腦積極思維的過(guò)程,通過(guò)思維活動(dòng)融合新舊知識(shí),變知識(shí)為能力。因此,辯論展示可以讓學(xué)生的思維和語(yǔ)言能力得到真正的發(fā)展,通過(guò)辯論展示 ,學(xué)生的思維受到了碰撞,獲得了學(xué)習(xí)的興趣,訓(xùn)練了聽(tīng)說(shuō)能力,更培養(yǎng)了邏輯思維能力,而競(jìng)爭(zhēng)機(jī)制的引入,給學(xué)生帶來(lái)了動(dòng)力,促進(jìn)學(xué)生更加熟悉相關(guān)內(nèi)容,能逐步完善已有的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)圖式。
(4)唱英語(yǔ)歌(English singing)。
音樂(lè)不分國(guó)界,也不分種族。可以給人以精神的享受與愉悅,同時(shí)也可以豐富課堂展示環(huán)節(jié)。學(xué)生對(duì)英文歌曲的熱愛(ài)可以帶到課堂上來(lái),在課前3至4分鐘的歌唱可以讓課堂教學(xué)進(jìn)入一個(gè)非常歡樂(lè)的氣氛當(dāng)中。教師在適當(dāng)?shù)臅r(shí)間里舉行一個(gè)英語(yǔ)歌唱比賽有利于學(xué)生英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)的提高,并且在英文歌曲當(dāng)中學(xué)習(xí)詞匯與語(yǔ)法。
