The South African Journal of Physiotherapy is the official academic reference journal of the South African Society of Physiotherapy. Intended to publish original research and promote the sustained professional development of physical therapists and other healthcare professionals both domestically and internationally. Committed to promoting the progress of physical therapy through publishing research and academic works related to the scientific basis and clinical applications of physical therapy, practitioner education, service management, and policy. We welcome original research and reviews covering various topics in the field of physical therapy.

The topics of interest include but are not limited to: advances in physical therapy related to anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, human biology, physics, biomechanics, motor function, neuroscience, clinical pathology, and behavioral science; Prevention, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis; Ethical, nursing plans, intervention techniques, and cultural methods for achieving goals and outcomes. The types of articles published include original research articles, editorials, case reports, review articles, scientific letters, randomized clinical trials, and randomized controlled trial protocols.
